Inventory Control Database for the ALMA project
The Atacama Large Millimetre Array project is an array of radio telescopes high in the Atacama desert in Chile. The ALMA project aims to provide imagery of the formation of stars and planets near our solar system and beyond.
The Science and Technologies Facilities Council approached our partners at Alberon to develop a database driven software application to manage the flow of parts to the assembly facility. The software application manages the delivery and integration of parts to the front-end devices being assembled by staff at the assembly centre at the Rutherford Appleton Laboratory in Oxfordshire.
Lunarmill are working with our partners at Alberon to support the day to day maintenance and continuing development of their parts inventory control system.

"Lunarmill has provided excellent ongoing support for the system. This has involved thinking through the best way to make modifications as the client's requirements have shifted."
